My paintings are spontaneous creations inspired by daily life. The colours and abstract compositions in my paintings are a reflection of my tangible experiences. I try to capture the essence of moods and feelings which I experience every day. The absence of form in my paintings invite viewers to connect with my work through the prism of their own experiences.
The main elements of my paintings are a voluntary play of colour and rhythm. I observe that there are millions of colours in nature that surrounds us, and these colours are imprinted in the canvas of my memory. Whenever I have to express a certain mood I choose colours from my memory palette. Often when I paint I also listen to music. Rhythm is a very important element in my paintings and I can feel the rhythm and harmony in the music permeating into my paintings as well. Each of my paintings in actuality is a page in the ‘diary’ of my life. The personal experiences in my life become universal as I try and capture the essence of the same in an abstract play of colour and rhythm. |
