Sunil Gajjar Profile
Sunil Gajjar was born into a community of artisans, where art is engineered. Perhaps, that is what led him to study and pursue engineering. However, within a year of working as an engineer, Sunil realised his heart was not in it. It was art that truly inspired him.
This prompted Sunil to take a bold and drastic step - saying goodbye to electrical engineering he opted for graphic designing. It was in 1993, during his first job as a graphic designer that he became fascinated with photography and its magical ability to steal a moment and freeze it for eternity.
Naturally shy, photography became a medium through which Sunil was able to express and reflect his inner world and become intimate with the life around him. His practice of, and experience in graphic designing and visual communications and photographic vision have helped him capture places, things and moments and turn them into visually dramatic images.
Sunil has had two solo shows 'Junagadh - a Visualogue' both at the Kanoria Gallery for Arts, Ahmedabad in November 2013 and at the Faculty of Fine Arts, MS University, Baroda in December 2013. In November 2013 Sunil participated in the 'Affordable Art Fair' at Coomarswamy Hall, Museum Campus in Kala Ghoda, Mumbai.
