Gaby Moore Profile
Gaby Moore is a multi- talented British artist who has been etching, painting and sculpting for the last 44 years. Gaby graduated from the City & Guilds Arts School and completed postgraduate studies from the Royal Academy School. Gaby’s works do not fit into a particular genre of art, she is instead intrigued by colour, surface and composition, where the realistic portrayal of subject matter has become less and less important to the point of abstraction.
Gaby works in a garden studio and, although she prefers to paint almost entirely from the imagination, she nevertheless takes inspiration from her surroundings and vehemently advocates the need for all artists to learn and acquire fundamental skills in observational drawing, sketching and painting.
Gaby has exhibited widely in the UK and notably has had work accepted in the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition on 16 separate occasions. She has participated in many solo and group shows, including exhibiting alongside Indian artist Avinash Chandra in 1981. Gaby was recently invited to be the sculpting artist–in–residence at the Glyndebourne Opera Festival 2010.
